Monastery Celebrates New Heritage Center
For a small group of trappist monks a small barn in Georgia was not only considered home for several months, but was an opportunity to share their fascinating history and knowledge on bonsai tree pruning with people from all over. The once simple and common barn has now been converted into the the main attraction at the Monastic Heritage Center. At this facility, the goal was to create a modern way for people to see the way these people live their day to day lives. Their prayers and humble approach to life is greatly reflected in this astonishing work of art. Though the monastery itself has been around for years, the Trappist Monks decided it was time to show the world what they were truly all about. The opening night of the Heritage Center was a celebration for all. A folkloric dance was performed between courses at dinner and special guests such as the vice president of the Coca Cola Company were in attendance to witness the beginning of a new way of understanding the lives of these peaceful people. The Heritage Center is the opportunity to get a better look into what this incredible group of people experience in their day to day lives.
